Common Usages:

This herb is used in formulas to treat symptoms such as abdominal and chest pains, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (or urge to defecate with no results, often with spasm), bronchial asthma, weak digestion, and bloating (TCM: stagnation); also used to treat jaundice, and infections in the bronchial, vaginal, and intestinal areas.

Traditional Usages and Functions:

Moves Qi and alleviates pain; adjusts and regulates Stagnant Qi in Intestines; strengthens Spleen and prevents stagnation.

Common Formulas Used In:Ginseng and Longan; Rhubarb and Scutellaria; Tang Gui and Indigo.
