Common English Name:Cinnamon Bark

Common Usages:

This herb is used in formulas to treat chronic diarrhea with cold hands and feet (TCM: internal core coldness; deficient Kidney and Spleen Yang; deficient Qi and Blood), sometimes with symptoms of flushing of face and head, wheezing, and sweating (TCM: false heat symptoms in upper part of body).

Traditional Usages and Functions:

Promotes Yang growth in Kidneys and brings True Yang into system via Kidneys; warms Kidneys and fortifies Yang; warms the Middle Burner and •disperses cold; warms the channels, promotes menstruation, and alleviates pain; leads the fire back to its source; generates Qi and Blood.

Common Formulas Used In:Ginseng and Tang Gui Ten; Rehmannia Eight; Tian Man and Eucommia; Tu-Huo and Loranthus.

Cautions in Use:Do not use during pregnancy. Do not use when there is a strong Yin deficiency or there are heat signs.
